Event 1 Details
Teams will start on their mat and at the call of 3-2-1 go teams of 1 Male and 1 Female will approach their barbells and complete 4 rounds of 12 deadlifts, 9 hang cleans, and 6 shoulder to overhead in synchronized fashion. After 4 rounds are completed teams will race back to their mat where they will tag their teammates. The remaining pair will complete the same. 4 rounds of 12 deadlifts, 9 hang cleans, and 6 shoulder to overhead.
Pairs must complete reps in synchronized fashion. For example if partner 1 completes 5 hang cleans and partner 2 has only completed 4 no further reps by partner 1 will count until partner 2 has completed 5 reps. This same standard holds for all movements.
Deadlift: This is a traditional deadlift with the hands outside the knees. Sumo-deadlifts are not allowed. Starting at the floor, the barbell is lifted until hips and knees reach full extension with the shoulders behind the bar. The arms must be straight throughout
Hang Clean: This is a standard Hang clean from the mid thigh to the shoulders. The first rep, the barbell begins on the ground, stood up to the mid thigh, and then barbell must come up to the shoulders, with the hips and knees fully extended and the elbows in front of the bar. Every rep after the first one can be brought back to mid thigh. It does not have to go back to the ground unless the bar is dropped.
Shoulder to Overhead: Each rep begins with the barbell on the shoulders andfinishes with theweight fully locked out overhead and over the middle ofthe body. A shoulder press, push press, push jerkor split jerk may be used, as long as the elbow, shoulder, hips and knees are fully extended, and the bar finishes directly over the body with the feet in line.
